Babylon HS Closing Monday Due to Expected Funeral Crowd
School officials have decided to close the school Monday given the 15,000 attendees expected for the funeral of slain police officer Peter Figoski.
Citing security and safety issues, the Babylon Junior-Senior High School will close on Monday, December 19 due to the funeral mass for slain New York police officer Peter Figoski, a West Babylon father of four.
All afterschool and evening activities at the Babylon Junior-Senior High School
are cancelled. The Junior High School Winter Concert has been rescheduled to Wednesday, December 21, 2011 in Rowe Hall at 7 p.m.
The Babylon Memorial Grade School and Babylon Elementary School will remain open, school officials said.
