Driver Charged With DWI in West Babylon Car Crash
Two people were injured as a result of a car hitting a utility pole on Great East Neck Road.
A car crash in West Babylon injured two people and resulted in the driver being arrested and charged with DWI, according to police.
Mohammed Farooq, a 28-year-old Bay Shore resident, crashed his 1994 BMW into a utility pole on Great East Neck Road, near the intersection of Raynor Street, around 11:18 p.m. Tuesday.
He was transported to Southside Hospital and his female passenger was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip for non-life threatening injuries, said polilce.
Police say Farooq was arrested and charged with DWI and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Central Islip.
