How to Volunteer in Babylon Village

Everything you need to know on where to go and what to give.

After the devastation of Hurricane Sandy throughout Long Island and areas like our own Babylon Village, Lindenhurst and Long Beach was revealed to the world, thousands, if not millions, asked a similar question – what can I do to help?

There's a ton of places accepting donations, seeking volunteers and doing everything they can to help the countless victims here in Babylon Village, and our neighbors throughout the South Shore.

  • The Babylon Rotary Club has announced they will be accepted monetary donations, with 100% going directly to local families affected by the Hurricane. The newly founded "Babylon Rotary Foundation, Inc.," a registered 501c-3 charitable corporation, will accept checks. Please mark 'Sandy Relief' in the comment line and mail to:
    • Babylon Rotary Club
      Attn: Sandy Relief
      P.O.Box 672
      Babylon, NY 11702
  • The Babylon Helps organization is working out of the American Leigion Post 94 starting at 9 a.m. The organization is asking that no more clothing be brought down – they had roughly two floors filled and ready for distribution yesterday. Volunteers are needed to continuing cooking, helping victims clean and move debris from their homes and other work throughout Babylon.
  • Night Out for Babylon, Century 21, First Presbyterian Church of Babylon and other local businesses are teaming up to also collect goods. They also reported no longer having a need for clothing, but also need a large amount of volunteers, especially those with vehicles, to help deliver goods such as food and clothing to victims throughout the area. They also should be at the church grounds by 9 a.m.
  • Naturally, American Red Cross is also accepting donations for relief across the tri-state area. You can donate online right here
