West Babylon resident and filmmaker Joe Pomarico won Best Long Island Short Film at the Long Island International Film Expo in Bellmore, for his short film "Gus."
This is Pomarico's first independent film since graduating college. It stars Sal Richards and tells the real life story of Pomarico's experiences being taught how to paint by his grandfather, who influenced his artistic outlook.
Check out the two-part video series to see what Pamarico had to say about the film, growing up and shaping his artistic influences in West Babylon, and his big win at the Film Expo.
