Village Basket Closing, School Tech News Ahead Today

Everything you need to know to get through Thursday.

It's Thursday – almost through the week again, Babylon! Here's a rundown of what's happening in the area.

The weather is expected to stay pretty nice today with a high near 68 degrees and partly cloud skies. Nighttime lows could get chilly again, so bring a jacket – 54 is the low.

If you didn't see it yesterday, we've got some sad news to report from the business district – the Village Basket will close its doors later this year.

On the flip side, we have some exciting news straight from the recent school board meeting about brand new technology being used in our classrooms.

Also on the agenda today:

  • A Suffolk County Office for the Aging representative will visit the West Babylon Library and be on hand to help with Medicaid, Senior ID Cards, food stamps and re-certification starting at 1 p.m.
  • Monsoon will host the Wear Blue for the Men You Love ® fundraiser and presents prostate-healthy menu specials at 6 p.m.
  • The Babylon Boy Scouts Troop #1 will hold an Open House at  United Methodist Church of Babylon Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m.

If you're holding a yard sale this weekend, don't forget to add it to our interactive map
