Powersmith named Business of the Year by UNAYO

The United North Amityville Youth Organization (UNAYO) awarded Powersmith Home Energy Solutions of Bay Shore its ‘Business of the Year’ award Saturday, September 24.

Sonji Clark, UNAYO’s Executive Director, presented the award to Dan Kartzman, President and Co-Founder of Powersmith, at the youth organization’s awards dinner which was attended by local dignitaries including Assemblyman Bob Sweeney, Councilman Tony Martinez, the UNAYO Board of Directors, as well as volunteers and staff.

Clark’s introduction of Powersmith included her own first-hand account of working with the company’s home energy specialists to reduce her home’s energy usage and lower her monthly bills. She described it as something every homeowner should do and encouraged the crowd to contact a Powersmith representative to receive their own free home energy audit.

In addition, Clark presented the award for ‘Red Carpet Service’ to Kartzman, an honorary treatment given to guests of the highest esteem.

“In dealing with customers, no matter how big or small, you give the best service, treating each one as royalty,” said Clark of Kartzman and his company. “You show people they are truly special and justly deserving of your utmost attention and assistance. It’s your wonderful charm and personality that make you a first-class service star.”

Kartzman, who left a VP position in San Francisco to start Powersmith Home Energy Solutions on Long Island, thanked Clark and UNAYO for their support in the fight to reduce home energy usage. He added that, in order to show their gratitude, Powersmith would make contributions of $20 to UNAYO for each energy audit held with an Amityville resident, and another $50 for every audit that went through with the construction to reduce home energy usage.
