5 Things to Know: August 14th

Storms are a-comin' on this Tuesday – plus a few government meetings that could have new laws in place.

1. Patch Forecast – The good weather might come to an end today. Forecasts are showing Babylon Village might see an increasing chance of thunderstorms throughout the afternoon into the evening. Storms aside, the high is expected to be around 84° with partly cloudy skies.

2. The Town of Babylon will be holding its Monthly Meeting for the Board of Trustees at 10:00 a.m. at Babylon Town Hall. Among the items on this agenda are a hearing for a proposed law to regulated where sex offenders can and cannot live.

3. Grab the old typewriter and join the  at The West Babylon Public Library. Join other writers as you share and discuss creative ideas. No experience necessary and all are welcome starting at 2:00 p.m.

4. It's  at The Bean in the village. Sip away on some great coffee and listen to local artists play their tunes, read poetry or perform comedy acts or bring your own guitar and rock out with the crowd. The event is, as always, free for all starting at 7:30 p.m.

5. The Babylon Village Board of Trustees will be holding a public meeting tonight starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Babylon Village Hall.
