5 Things to Know: January 7th

The winter chill is about to melt away for a bit – one more day, though, of slightly chilly air.

1. Patch Forecast – Big changes are in store for us in the days ahead, mostly on the upside of the thermometer. However, Monday will remain cool in the area with a sunny sky and a high of around 42°. Babylon Village will drop to an icy 28° at night before the mid-winter thaw comes – see more on this later!

2. The West Babylon Public Library will be hosting a Hello & Goodbye event for residents to say goodbye to departing director Anne Marie Dolan and hello to the new director, Gail Pepa. The event gets underway at 3 p.m.

3. Adopt a House will be holding a Home Rebuilding, Mold Remediation & Post-Sandy Assistance Mini-Conference at Lindenhurst High School at 6 p.m.

4. The Babylon Parent-Teacher-Student Association will hold a regular meeting at Babylon Junior-Senior High School at 7 p.m.
