5 Things to Know: July 25th

Take advantage of the week's first gorgeous day and head out to see what's going on around Babylon.

1. The bad weather leaves the area for a day and gives us some repreive. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 82 in Babylon Village. Sunny skies will dominate the day but bad weather will start rolling in again during the night time with a very slight chance for showers.

2. Send the kids off to  at Cedar Beach Marina! Campers ages 6-12 will explore Long Island’s marine habitats on the beautiful south shore beaches in Babylon. Unique specialized sessions for ages 6-8 and for 9-12 offered by Cornell educators. US Coast Guard visits campers to teach marine safety and protecting the waters from pollution. Each week costs $225 and starts at 9:00 a.m.

3. Head off to West Babylon Public Library for  at 1:00 p.m. Join others in games of Scrabble or Mah Jong or start a different game. Sign up at the Circulation Desk. All players and walk-ins are welcome.

4. What better way to cool down than a day at the Babylon Village Pool? How about  starting at 2:30 p.m.? A children's librarian will be on hand to read several tales to children at the bay-side facility.

5. The Town of Babylon Summer Concert Series rolls on tonight at Tanner Park. Come check out American country music artist  rock out the beach starting at 7:00 p.m. Bring blankets or lawn chairs if you're headed out.
