5 Things to Know: November 12th

Warm weather leaves the area as a cold front chills us down and brings a few showers.

1. Patch Forecast – Tuesday ends the past couple of sunny, warm days in turn for a 10 degree drop and some passing showers. Babylon Village will see a high right around 52° with showers throughout the day. During the night, showers will leave for a clear sky and very cold night with a low right near freezing.

2. American Legion Post 94 will still be opened throughout the day as a warming center and a place to rest up. Food, however, will no longer be served at this location.

3. Join other writers at West Babylon Public Library as you share and discuss creative ideas at Writer's Club at 2 p.m.. No experience necessary. All are welcome.

4. Gear up for some Panthers Playoffs! Suffolk County Champions Babylon will take on Cold Spring Harbor for the Long Island Girls Soccer Class B Championship at Dowling College at 3 p.m.

5. There's MORE playoff fever! The Babylon girls varsity volleyball team, also Suffolk County Champions, will fight for the Long Island Championship against Nassau Champion Oyster Bay at Carle Place High School at 4:30 p.m.
