5 Things to Know: October 15th

Rain returns for the beginning of the week, along with warm temperatures.

1. Patch Forecast – Showers are likely throughout the day, although much of it shouldn't be too heavy. Bring the umbrella and a good jacket and you'll be fine in Babylon Village. Temperatures expected to hit 72° during the day and drop to 54° during the evening before clearing out late.

2. The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition will host their 2012 Golf Skill Challenge Classic at the Sumpwams Creek Golf Club starting at 8 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. $85 per player if you are not previously registered. There's a $20,000 prize for a hole-in-one!

3. The Coalition will also host the annual Founders' Award Reception at Lily Flanagan's Pub starting at 4:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Coalition's many patient and community services.

4. The West Babylon Public Library will host Monday Night at the Movies starting at 6 p.m. Come down for a free showing of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (PG-13).

5. The Babylon School District will be holding a Public Regular Meeting of the Board of Education at Babylon High School starting at 7:30 p.m. Come on down if you have any questions for the board – public questioning session at the end of every meeting.
