5 Things You Can't Do in Babylon Village

There is no denying the community is extraordinary but here is a tongue-and-cheek look at some of the challenges and things missing from the village.

Every day Patch offers up a list of things you can do in Babylon Village.

But today is different. Putting tongue firmly in cheek, and with some truth sprinkled in, we’re listing five things you can’t do in no particular order:

Traverse Main Street in less than 15 minutes on a weekend evening.
Let's face it, Babylon Village residents aren't the only ones who love the community and weekends draw hundreds of visitors to enjoy the terrific shopping district and dining experiences.

Walk Argyle Park without encountering geese and what they leave behind.
Even in the dead of winter you can spot geese enjoying the lake and park, and even the grassland at the village entranceway at Route 231. It's wise not to wear your best footgear while enjoying a beautiful stroll.

Park behind stores without seeing at least two parking rule signs.
As a Patch photo gallery once illustrated there must be hundreds of parking rule signs sprinkled along village streets and the business district and some are more beautiful than others.

Find a better cup of coffee than what Sal offers at the Bean.
Yes Glen's makes a good cup of Java, but when it comes to variety (which is the spice of any coffee junkie's lifeblood) and feeling right at home, the Bean--let's face it, is the closest thing next to Long Island's own "Cheers"--is best.

Run over an errant garbage that is obstructing a street.
That's because you'll never even see a garbage can sitting on a curb given the village refuse collection still provides backyard pickup.
