Babylon Library Closing Early on Thursday Due to Blizzard
Storm forces library to close early in the afternoon.
The Babylon Public Library will be closing its doors early on Thursday as a blizzard impacts our area.
Librarian Ann Gomez told Patch the library would close at 4 p.m. Thursday due to the forecast calling for blizzard conditions soon after and through the evening.
The library, Gomez said, would also be closed on Friday as the storm pulls out of the area on Friday afternoon.
Babylon Schools have already announced their closure for Friday classes as the storm is forecast to drop up to a foot of snow and winds up to 45 mph during the next 24 hours.
Local libraries have also begun to shut their doors due to the storm. Lindenhurst Public Library will also close at 4 p.m. and certain events at West Babylon Public Library have been cancelled.
