Babylon Village Weekend Planner

We've got a list of events happening around the area this weekend.

The Long Island Pet Expo takes place this weekend at the Suffolk Community College Brentwood Campus. Kids and pet lovers are invited to see te dog arena, reptile show, petting zoo and more. The event will take place on Friday, March 1 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, March 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, March 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $12 Adults, $5 Child (ages 11 and under) 3 and under are admitted free.

The Congregation of Beth Shalom is hosting Shabbat Across America dinner and services Friday evening. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. and services at 8 p.m. Non-members are welcome. Registration is required.

Learn about Chinese culture and the year of the snake from presenter George Wei at the West Babylon Public Library on Saturday at 2 p.m. The lecture is free, but registartion is required.

Farrell's in West Islip is hosting Ryan's Hope, a fundraiser for the family of Ryan McCarthy, a teen who was ciritically injured by a hit and run driver of New Year's Eve. The event, set for Saturday, March 2 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., will feature music, food and a number of raffles including 50/50, baskets and grand prizes including an iPad. Organizers are requesting a donation of $10 at the door, which includes a buffet.

The Ice Rink at Tanger Outlets at the Arches in Deer Park is open and ready for skaters. Stop in this weekend on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
