Hurricane Sandy might not be on Long Island just yet, but some residents and business owners were taking absolutely no chances as this October's "Frankenstorm" stared down Babylon Village, even before the evacuation order.
Residents, especially those near the shoreline, could be seen boarding up their windows in prepartion for the expected 50 to 75 mile per hour winds and justs into the 80 mph range. Boat owners had all but made the Babylon Docks a ghost town by last evening, with only a few boats left.
A few stores had begun their storm preparation by taping up windows, such as Posh Salon. Others took the storm in stride, like Pandemonium Boutique, by offering deals on clothing as the megastorm approached.
