Blizzard Scenes; LIRR May Suspend Service

Residents share photos taken during the blizzard conditions on Sunday and railroad officials say snow accumulation could halt service this evening.

The Long Island Railroad says service will continue to operate as long as it can ensure traveler and employee safety but may be forced to suspend train service if snow accumulations hit between 10 and 13 inches this evening.

The LIRR plans to run on a holiday schedule for Monday.
