It's Jets Week to Win

According to the formula, this week the Jets win.  That’s how this season has gone so far.  Win one, lose one.  After getting blown away by the Buffalo Bill last week it is the Jets turn to lay a beating on the Baltimore Ravens.  The problem with the formula is that if the trend continues the best the Jets can do is an 8 – 8 season. That will not be good enough to make the playoffs.

New Statin Guidelines

A recent list of recommendations from the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology discusses the idea of a broader application of statin medications, which help lower cholesterol.

Both organizations say this change in statin guidelines can help more people and that doctors shouldn’t simply prescribe the medications based on a certain cholesterol number. The guidelines help physicians do what many of us have already been doing when it comes to broadening the appropriate use of statins.

Get Crackin’! With Cashews

Cashews are classy. They are rich in flavor and texture. They make a wonderful stand-alone snack, bring elegance to mixed nuts, and add a healthy protein and delicious nutty flavor to savory dishes.

Some supermarkets and specialty food stores sell cashew butter, which they grind fresh to order. It makes a wonderful alternative spread to peanut and almond butters. And lots of restaurants add cashews to salads for a regal touch.
