Police Looking for Hit-and-Run Driver Who Smashed PD Car

Suffolk County Police are on the lookout for a driver who smashed a police cruiser on early Sunday morning before fleeing the scene.

Police told Newsday a police cruiser was parked on westbound Main Street in Babylon Village near Melbury Road on early Sunday morning addressing a different motor vehicle crash when a vehicle slammed into the parked car, bending the driver's side door backwards.

Babylon Village Honors Veterans With Annual Parade

Hundreds lined Deer Park Avenue on Monday to salute our area's veterans for their service to our country in Babylon Village's annual Veterans Day Parade.

The winding line of parading guests included veterans of foreign wars – some old and some rather fresh – as well as many of our elected officials, including Mayor Ralph Scordino, the Babylon Village Board and Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer.

Two-Car Accident Sends One Woman to the Hospital

A two-vehicle accident left at least one woman injured after a collision at Beachwood Drive on Montauk Highway/West Main Street on Tuesday afternoon.

West Babylon Fire Department crews responded to a call at around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday of a two-car accident near the street on the West Babylon-Babylon Village borders.

Season's First Snow Lightly Coats Parts of Babylon Village

Long Island got a bit of a surprise this morning as snowflakes flew like it was February and not the middle of November, leaving behind a thin, slushy coat of the white stuff.

Snow began falling island-wide around 7 a.m. mixing in with rain associated with a powerful, cold arctic front pushing across the northeast. As temperatures plummeted from the 50's to the lower 30's, rain showers began mixing over to snow during the morning.

W. Babylon Man Charged in $10M Long Island Burglary Ring

A West Babylon man faces up to 15 years in prison for his role in an advanced burglary ring that stole over $10 million worth of property from Long Island homes and businesses over the last three years.

Nikitas Margiellos, 40, of West Babylon, was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property and Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property by the United States Attorney's Office, Eastern District of New York.
