Charge Up Your Phone at Plesser's

With over 40 hours since a hurricane force gust was felt around Babylon and probably longer since most in the dark have had power, Plesser's is offering up the opportunity to give your cell phone a full, free charge at the storefront in the village today.

The appliance store is running on basics on East Main Street at the moment and has ran a wire from its generator to its trademark dog statue outfront with a power strip and a sign reading simply, "Cell Phone Charge."

"No power I can see of at all," owner Alan Howard wrote to Patch. "Village is doing an amazing job at patrolling the business district."

Howard also told Patch he plans to get one of the store's many refridgerators up and running by tomorrow and said anyone who needs to keep their medicines cold were more than welcome to swing by and use it.

The Town of Babylon is also running a free cell phone charging station in North Babylon at the Town Hall Annex.
