Goose on the Loose

Well, geese, that is. A Patch photographer caught a flock, which had come from a local waterway to get the young ones fed while helping to "mow" a few lawns.

The Canada goose is not an uncommon sight in suburbia, and "spring crossings" of roadways are traffic-stopping events.

This flock of fledglings and their elders took lots of time, enabling a Patch photographer to take lots of photos on a recent evening as they ventured across Montauk Highway and entered a residential village roadway.

Click on the photo gallery for some up close people's-eye views of the big birds and their beautiful babies.
