We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box.

FAMILY BEST BETS OF THE WEEK

Where/When: : Thursday, 11 am.

Why Go: Your youngster will have a great time at a creative teddy bear themed program.

Pricing: Free to library cardholders.

Where/When: Doggie U K9 Academy, 41 Saxon Avenue, Bay Shore, NY 11706 –  Thursday and Friday, 10 am-5 pm.

Why Go: Bond with your little pet lover by supporting Hearts for Paws. Bring unopened pet food to Doggie U K9 Academy. Your donation will be provided to local food pantries.

Pricing: Your generous donation.

Where/When: : Thursday, 4:15 pm-5 pm.

Why Go: Art themed classes for ages 3.5 to 4.5 years and 5 to 6 years. A great place for parents and children to socialize with other parents and children.

Pricing: $320 (monthly payment = $80), based on a 16 week series.

Where/When:: Sun - Wed, 7am - 6pm; Thu - Sat, 7am - 8pm.

Why Go: Kids will get their cookie fix, while you recharge with an amazing home-brewed espresso.

Where/When: Young Imagination: Mon - Sat, 10am - 6pm; Sun, 11am - 4pm.

Why Go: This unique neighborhood toy store is a great stop when you want to get a little something for you little one.
