Storm Recovery Workshop Slated for Thursday
Local event aims to help those affected by recent storms rebuild communities.
The New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program will hold a public open house workshop in Babylon Village on Sept. 26.
The program, which was established to provided additional rebuilding and revitalization assistance to communities hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, as well as Tropical Storms Irene and Lee, will hold the event at the American Legion Post 94 in Babylon Village on Thursday.
The event, according to organizers, will be focused on helping residents gain knowledge, experience and recommendations that will be be essential to the development of the area's reconstruction.
Organizers urged members of the Town of Babylon to provide input on the work that has already been completed.
The informational public event will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is open to all members of the public.
