The thunderstorm threat for the day seems to have passed after Babylon got walloped by a very strong supercell around 5:50pm. After the rain and lightning passed, residents in Babylon Village were left with the beautiful sight of rainbows around the area.
Reader Alan Howard, vice president of Plesser's in Babylon Village, took this photo from Peninsula Drive just after the storm and caught a real rarity – a double rainbow!
Expect more showers, less severe, throughout the night with temperatures dipping into the mid-50s.
