Photo-Op: Babylon Goes to the Dogs

A second dog park has opened in the village.

As part of a park renovation, the playground at the end of George Street by the Whaler's Cove condominiums has been outfitted with both a new playground (repurposed from Argyle Lake) and a brand new fenced-in dog run.

This dog park is now the second in Babylon Village. The other park is located behind the Little League fields on Locust Avenue. Patch's cameras haven't spotted many canine visitors yet, but residents hope the dog parks will help deter dog owners from letting their pets run unleashed in village ball fields and other parks .

Is it possible to have a link for Google maps as to the location of these two dog parks? I wasn't aware of them and I have been driving with my little dog to Lindenhurst. Their dog park is divided for small dogs and big dogs so they don't have to be in the same run. Even a cross street would help. I am new to Babylon and I am not familiar with the lay of land yet. Thanks, Carol

Hi Carol, Here is the link to the George Street park...it's at the end of the road. http://g.co/maps/pn3th The Locust Avenue park is in the greenbelt area, just south of the road: http://g.co/maps/k3yhu

Are the parks for residents only or can others go as well?

Viola, there are no signs indicating otherwise and no permit parking restrictions so it appears not limited to residents.

Hi, just wanted to say, thank you, Babylon Village for giving the doggie owners and of course their babies, the opportunity to meet in the Village. Today, was the first time and it was alot of fun! Thank you too Jackie, for your input and information!!!
