Super Saturday Yard Sale at Whaler’s Cove

The residents of Whaler’s Cove, off John Street, are having a whopper of a yard sale on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with at least 15 homeowners participating.

The sale items will include everything from children’s clothes to air conditioners with something for everyone.

The last time the neighborhood had such a big sale was about 10 years ago, according to one homeowner.

Whaler’s Cove is a 152-family condo complex just south of the 231 Babylon exit and the sale will take lace on the great lawn.

If you’re in the mood for some costume jewelry, Lavender & Lace Antiques offers vintage designer pieces from Schiaparelli, Miriam Haskell, Hattie Carnegie, Schreiner, Trifari, Boucher and many others. Pick from rhinestone pins, earrings, bracelets and necklaces. There is also a wide selection of designer purses and hats, gloves and shoes and vintage clothing. The store is located at 122 Deer Park Avenue, across from Mary Carroll's.

Another great village store, Deja VU on Main, also offers a wide selection of costumer and vintage jewelry, sterling silver and unique items.

A local car dealer in the village is selling a 1997 Saab 900s Turbo with 79,000 times for $3995. It drives excellent and featuers a power roof and leather interior and recent tires.

If a Jaguar is more your style, there’s a 1996 XJ6, black on black, in excellent condition and featuring a moonroof, new tires and “ice cold a/c” for $4,950.

Nail professionals and cosmetologistis looking to settle in and get a clientele going have an opportunity as there are salon stations for rent in the village.
