Here's a list of child-friendly eateries in the village where parents can enjoy a nice meal out with their children.

As most parents quickly learn, going out to dinner with young children can be a nightmare and can end up with one parent eating while the other takes care of screaming toddler or upset preschooler outside.

But with some planning it can be an enjoyable experience and choosing child-friendly eateries can help make that happen.

There are several such restaurants in the village that not only welcome young appetities but offer up special menus and even free meals and have high chairs and kid seats at the ready.

A big sign in the window of advertises that "kids eat free" and the promotion runs every day starting at 4 p.m.  Children 12 and younger can order free off the kid's menu when accompanied by an adult paying for a regular entree.  Selections cover the kids menu basics such as chicken fingers, burgers, macaroni and cheese, pizza and spaghetti.  217 E. Family favorite Glen's Dinette is always packed full with Babylon residents and young kids.  The old-fashioned soda shop fare is perfect for small palettes, and you can complement the kid's menu items such as smiley-face pancakes or grilled cheese platters with a thick milkshake or root beer float.  Glen's is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday.  Cash only.  23 E.
