Babylon Notebook: A Day at the Beach
The town's beaches and parks are popular every day during summer, and Cedar Beach seems to be a favorite for families.
When is the Atlantic Ocean more like a lake? When weather patterns keep waves down to small breaking crests, and is more like Cedar Lake for swimmers. That was the scenario at the end of July, and while it didn't make local surfers very happy, families from Lindenhurst and across with little ones took advantage of the calm waters to introduce toddlers to the ocean, try their hand at kite-flying and just enjoy the beauty in their own backyards.
