Weekend Planner: High School Football Returns, Argyle Fair

Are you ready for some football? Our local teams go for their first win this weekend and Babylon hosts its annual crafts fair!

Patch Forecast – The rain just refuses to leave us alone for a full day. Keep the umbrellas handy in Babylon Village, Deer Park and North Babylon as more showers will come to the area on Saturday and Sunday. Most will not be intense, but just enough to make you want to keep out of the rain. High temperatures throughout the week will hug the high 70s/lower 80s range.

Friday

Deer Park High School takes the field to face off with Miller Place for the first football games of the season for both schools at Deer Park High School starting at 6:00 p.m.

Across the town, Babylon High School goes to battle with East Hampton at home starting at 6:00 p.m. The Panthers will look to repeat their successes from last season with a win.

Women of West Islip and the Babylon Village Womens Club will be playing a softball game to benefit the . Everyone is invited to come watch starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Locust Avenue Baseball Field. Refreshments, music and more will be available!

Saturday

Come down to TC Diamond Arts for Community Class Day! They will be having classes all day for donation only. Raffles will also be available! This is a day for you to try a new class or just come by and meet the staff. Specials and Events for the Month will be released as well!

North Babylon High School takes the field for their first football game this fall. The Bulldogs will take on Half Hallow Hills West at home at 2:00 p.m.

Need some live music in your life? Come enjoy some great music at All the Perks Espresso Cafe in West Babylon as they host Weevos, an acoustic folk duo, at 3:00 p.m. or... join The Babylon Bean every Saturday night from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for live performances by magnifiicant & renowned local musicians. Enjoy great coffee and amazing tunes!

The Babylon Farmer's Market is cancelled for this one weekend to make way for another event...

...The Argyle Park Country Fair is back! Known as one of Long Island’s best fairs, the Annual Country Fair offers food and entertainment around the Gazebo area and features a children’s section with small rides and activities. Hundreds of craft vendors sell hand-made items to crowds that have numbered in the thousands. Come out early at 8:00 a.m. or stick around to the end at 5:00 p.m.!
