Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Babylon Village

National Weather Service expects as much as 5 inches of snow to fall locally.

Old Man Winter will strike Babylon Village again on Wednesday night!

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Suffolk County and southern Nassau County from 5 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday as another winter storm passes through the tri-state area.

The snow should start falling throughout the late afternoon on Wednesday and pick up during the evening before the storm quickly leaves the area by early Thursday morning.

Storm accumulations will be light in general, as the National Weather Service expects 2 to 5 inches to fall locally. The advisory warns, however, heavier bands of snow within the storm could produce locally heavier ranges from 4 to 8 inches.

Winds should remain lighter than the February 8th blizzard – 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Winds will still be strong enough to reduce visibilities to as low as a half-mile and possibly have white-out conditions for periods.
