BACCA Holding Concert for Philippine Relief on Sunday

Concert aims to raise funds for nation hit hardest by super typhoon last month.

The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts will hold a special concert this Sunday to help aid those affected by the recent super typhoon in the Philippines.

BACCA will host "The Concert for Philippine Relief" this Sunday, December 15 at the BACCA Arts Center on North Wellwood Avenue in Lindenhurst.

A $10 suggested donation for entry to the concert will go directly to the Kiwanis International Foundation, which has been collecting donations to help Filipinos within a week of the storm's landfall.

The event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and includes a lineup filled with local performing artists, including Gene Casey, Ken Talve Trio, Hank Stone Band, Grand Folk Railroad, Perfect Strangers and Gabe D'Antoni.

Super Typhoon Haiyan swept across the Pacific island nation last month, bringing catastrophic damage to the area in a storm system that produced record breaking sustained winds and wind gusts.

Those who cannot attend the event but wish to donate to help those in need across the globe can do so through the Kiwanis donation website.
