Bobtown Performing Free Concert at American Legion This Thursday

Five-piece folk band will take the stage at Babylon Village's Post 94 this Thursday.

Folk band Bobtown will be performing a free concert at the American Legion this Thursday evening.

The concert is a part of the Babylon Village Arts Council's Second Thursday Concerts series, which brings in musicians to perform for the area's residents.

Bobtown, a five-piece band from Brooklyn, is known for their varying influences in their music, including field hollers, gospel music, folk songs, pop melodies and bluegrass harmonies.

The band describes itself as reinventing "American choral music for the 21st century to the creature a unique and compelling blend of voices and instruments that move gracefully between elegy and celebration."

The free concert will get underway at the Legion hall on Grove Place at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Admission to the event is free for all ages.

The program has been partially funded by the Suffolk County Executive's Office, members and other community support.
