Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show Perform This Thursday

CD release show will feature multi-lingual singer and her band at American Legion.

The Babylon Village Arts Council will be hosting the next in its series of 2nd Thursday Concerts on December 12 as Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show.

According to the council, Rohe is a "multi-lingual singer, storyteller and composer, mixing aesthetic approaches from jazz, folk, and Brazilian traditions."

The singer and her band will take the stage this Thursday at the American Legion Post 94 to celebrate the release of her new album "Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show."

On her own website, Rohe is described as a writing "one-of-a-kind narrative songs, which range from fantastical riffs on old folktales to 'phonojournalism', a genre of her own invention, have won recognition from ASCAP and the New York Songwriters Circle, and her refreshingly candid performance won her the audience prize at the Montreux Jazz Festival."

The show is open to all and free. The band is expected to take the stage at 8 p.m.
