Library News and Notes: Budget Passes, Two Trustees Elected

Babylon Library's 2012-2013 budget passed this week.

The Babylon Public Library announced that their 2012-2013 budget passed this week. Tuesday's vote was 174-40 in favor of the budget, which increased by $55,229 from this year.

Two candidates were elected to the two available seats: Deborah Young-Szala will begin her unexpired term beginning April 17, 2012 ending June 30, 2014. Babylon attorney Robert E. Brink will begin his new five-year term beginning July 1, 2012 ending June 30, 2017.

Today's at the library is "Soul Surfer," the story of a teenage surfer girl who summons the courage to go back into the ocean after losing an arm in a shark attack. The movie is at 3 p.m. and registration is not required.
