Photo of the Day: From Hotel to Home

Remnants of the former Argyle Hotel, the famed escape for 19th-century New York City summer vacationers, can still be spotted among the private homes of the village's Argyle Park neighborhood.

After the demolition of the large Argyle Hotel on its eponymous lake, some of the hotel's cottages and building material become private homes. One home's handsome facade hearkens back to the awnings and stone of the original 350-room resort giant.
