Police Arrest Copiague Man for Babylon Bank Robbery

Suffolk County Police capture alleged robber only less than a week after crime.

Suffolk County Police announced the arrest of a Copiague man charged with robbing the Capital One Bank in Babylon Village on Friday afternoon.

Police said Eric Hyndman, 47, of Copiague was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree. 

Suffolk Police said Friday that a man entered the Little East Neck Road bank at around 12:20 p.m. 

He approached a teller and verbally demanded cash. The teller complied and the man fled the property in what was described as a light colored, late model work van heading north on Tappan Avenue. 

Hyndman was also arrested for a Petit Larceny warrant. 

He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 11.
