Business Beat: Smoothies This Summer, Lucy's Chef Moves to Tres Palms

Here's the latest from Babylon Village's downtown.

Summer Smoothies

Natural Blendz, the smoothie shop opening on Deer Park Avenue, has been working to open for longer than expected, but owner Christina Fiore tells Patch that the end is in sight.

The shop, which well sell all natural, homemade smoothies, juices, protein shakes, and healthy snacks, hit a snag when Fiore and her co-owner, Christian Carlone, found out they needed to replace sewer lines that also affected a neighboring building. After jumping through a series of bureacratic hoops, Fiore says, they are now doing the needed construction and hope to be open by memorial Day weekend.

Fiore says this is her first business and she's excited to offer what she says is something completely new and different in the village: "There are other stores selling different types of smoothies, but our product is completely different. We are making it all outselves and it will be all natural, no preservatives and organic when we can."
