Business Beat: Asian Dining Option Opens While Several Stores Close

The end of 2011 saw a few businesses shutter, while another Asian restaurant opened its doors.

In the last few weeks of 2011 Babylon Village saw three stores close their doors, and one pan-Asian eatery open for business.

Blue Chill, the seafood restaurant that opened earlier in 2011, has a 'closed for renovations' sign in the window, but a store for lease sign seems to indicate the eatery may be closed for good.

Down the street, Babylon Jewelers relocated. A sign on the window indicated that customers waiting for repair orders should stop into Coastal Treasures to get in contact with the jewelers. No word on where the new shop will be located.

Another newcomer to the village, Sweet Autumn, the children's clothing boutique on Deer Park Avenue, has also closed.

The newest Asian dining option is Tokyo, in the former Rising Dragon storefront on East Main Street.

The restaurant is under new ownership and appears to offer the gamut of Asian flavors: the official name is "Tokyo Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar" and the menu offers sushi, Chinese, hibachi and Thai cuisine.
