Business Spotlight: The One Place to Buy the iPhone

The Sprint store on Deer Park Avenue is the lone local seller of Apple's smartphone.

There is only one place in Babylon Village where residents can buy the ever-popular Apple iPhone but that isn't the only valuable service the Sprint Premier store provides local shoppers.

The two-year-old business, and its associates, provide a mecca of information when it comes to iPhone services and applications, as well as services and software for a wide variety of smartphone devices.

For example, iPhone 4 users who regularly misplace their snazzy handsets might be interested in how to use the Apple ID iPhone location service, or the iCloud service for backing up data just in case they lose the handset but don’t ever want to lose valuable contact information.

“I just used the location service recently as I left my phone in the parking lot,” explained Adam Butler, owner of the Sprint Premier Store at 26 Deer Park Avenue.

Helping setting up iPhone services and many other smartphone options are part of Sprint’s customer service effort called Ready Now.

“We help customers get their email, Blue Tooth, the iCloud and applications they want to use up and running,” said Butler, adding that the store offers the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S and not earlier handsets such as iPhone 3.

In fact the store’s solid customer service has earned it several Sprint awards for 100 percent  customer service satisfaction.

”This is due to our customers leaving the store with a device they feel comfortable using after our Ready Now Service,” said Butler.

One of the most current popular add-ons for iPhone lovers is the battery case that sells between $60 to $70 dollars.

iPhone 4S customers are also enjoying the smartphone’s free voice recognition application called Siri.

“Customers have told us how useful it is, whether they’re asking for an address of a restaurant or need help with baking a cake. It’s like their ownn personal assistant,” explained Butler.

One of Sprint’s most compelling contract options is the carrier's $79.99 a month iPhone program.

“We are truly the only carrier offering truly unlimited data for the iPhone,” Butler noted. “This is great for customers due to the fact they don’t have to worry about overages and costly bills,” he said.

Sprint also offers a buy-back program for those looking to trade up from a mobile phone to a smartphone like the iPhone.

Depending on the age and condition old phones can cut $5 to $200 off a customer’s cost.

“The cell phone industry has progressed tremendously over the last few years.  We have gone from consumers wanting simple basic free flip phones to now wanting high-end smartphone devices such as iPhone and Android,” said Butler.
