Local Places to Pick Up the iPhone 5

Apple's latest iPhone will go on pre-sale September 14th and release on September 21st.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announced the release of the new version of the Apple iPhone – iPhone 5 – in a press event held in San Francisco, California. With an updated processor, longer four-inch screen and running the new iOS 6 system, the new iPhone will bring new LTE speeds to the iPhone.

As with any Apple product release, anticipation is and will be high for the iPhone 5 and you'll see lines forming from many cell phone retailers on launch day, just to be the first to have the new iDevice in their hands. The new iPhone 5 will come in three capacity sizes – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB for $199, $299 and $399 respectively. The iPhone 4S will now sell for $99 while the iPhone 4, the now eldest phone available will have an 8GB model free on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon networks.

Babylon Village's technology lovers should have no fear – there's plenty of stores to buy the new iPhone come September 21st.

RadioShack in West Babylon at the Great South Bay Shopping Center will be selling the newest models on launch day. RadioShack normally opens at 9 a.m. on Friday mornings.

RadioShack has a second location in North Babylon at Sunset Plaza. The store also opens at 9 a.m.

AT&T has a retail store across the roadway at 704 Montauk Highway and will sell the new device along with all previous incarnations listed. Please note AT&T will only sell phones to link with their network. AT&T opens at 11 a.m. on Friday mornings.

Unfortunately, the Sprint Premier Store in Babylon Village, which would have carried a product like this, has closed up and the MetroPCS store does not carry the iPhone on its network.

As I explained, my post was made on behalf of another village resident. However, I did take theRead More time to read the statute and do have an independent viewpoint on this subject. While I do not feel that all dogs require a muzzle at all times, if you have a dog that you know to be a threat to other dogs or humans, you would have a duty to take measures to eliminate that threat before bring that dog into public. If that measure is a muzzle, then that's what must be done. As my post indicated, I believe strict enforcement would be exceedingly difficult and, perhaps, unnecessary (at least with respect to the muzzle requirement). However, a total lack of enforcement is dangerous and unacceptable. I think a little common sense goes a long way and I have confidence that those charged with enforcing the Village code could do so selectively. I understand that selective enforcement may be a concept that many feel uncomfortable with. However, just because the law requires a muzzle, that is hardly a reason to disregard it in its entirety and allow dogs with vicious propensities to roam around unleashed. I will leave it up to Village lawmakers to remove the muzzle requirement (and suggest that they do so) if that is what it would take to make people comfortable with the leash requirement.
