Molto Vino Expansion Public Hearing Set for July 23

Owner looking to expand the wine bar to include more seating.

The Village of Babylon will hold a public hearing on July 23 to consider the potential expansion of wine bar Molto Vino into a next-door space.

Owner Massimiliano Gargiulo will detail his plans to expand the popular wine bar into nearby 45 Deer Park Avenue, the home of what used to be the home of The Country Peddler, which closed last year.

Gargiulo presented his initial plans for expansion to the Babylon Village Planning Board earlier this year in February. The plans then included moving his wine storefront, Solo Vino, into the Country Peddler's former home and opening the wall to allow for more space.

He also mentioned adding a potential outdoor patio behind the bar for more seating for customers.

Planning Board members cited parking concerns back in February, but were initially in support of the business' expansion.

Those looking to speak for or against the business will be heard during the public hearing to be held on July 23 at Babylon Village Hall at 7 p.m.
