Molto Vino Featured in The New York Times

Babylon Village's dedicated wine bar the topic of a trend story.

Babylon Village's own Molto Vino was featured as one of the businesses in a New York Times story on wine bars throughout Long Island.

Molto Vino, along with its sister storefront Solo Vino, were noted for their grand style, wide selections of wine and expert staff of bartenders.

"Molto Vino is one of a new crop of wine bars that have opened on Long Island in recent months, offering extensive selections of wines by the glass, as well as artisanal cheese and charcuterie to pair with them," reporter Susan M. Novick wrote.

"Without a full liquor license or a full-service kitchen, places like Molto Vino... feature casual tasting menus that allow the wine to take center stage."

Molto Vino was opened by owner Massimiliano "Max" Gargiulo roughly six months ago on October 20, 2012 and has become a big hit in Babylon Village's night life. While many flock to the village's bars and restaurants, a crowd can always be found at the 20-seat bar, seeking to try the over 100 wines offered at the bar.

Recently, Gargiulo approached the village about expanding his bar and moving Solo Vino to make for more space to the popular spot.

"Here, you will try every glass of wine until you find the wine that you like," Gargiulo told The Times. "For me, it’s the concept of educating people. It’s not just merlots, cabernets, the usual wines. There are so many other wines out there that people don’t know."

The story went on to mention other bars along the same theme as Molto Vino including C'est Cheese in Port Jefferson and Wine Cellar on Main in Northport.
