Monsoon Formally Opens its Doors

The Monsoon, a 275-seat Asian Fusion cuisine restaurant, is now officially open for dinner seven days a week in the former site of the Bank of NY building on Deer Park Avenue.

The Bohlsen Restaurant Group's latest eatery is amassing rave feedback on food, service and decor. BRG co-president Michael Bohlsen, shown talking with press respresentatives at a special event Thursday, said the restaurant broke a BRG record at one of its many 'soft' opening nights, serving 360 dinners. The average for most of BRG's restaurants is about 120.

"We are very proud of that achievement and it took a year at Prime [another BRG restaurant] to reach that type of level. We're proud of our kitchen and the job they're doing," he said.
