Get the DVR remote in hand if you’re not near a TV at 2 p.m. this afternoon or you’ll miss a local village retailer’s second 15 minutes of fame.

Plesser’s Electronics will be spotlighted on the CBS talk show, "The Talk" on Channel 2 during a segment about the The Price is Right Show and host Drew Carey. A Plesser’s appliance will be the product that the show’s hosts will "bid" on during a short parody of the popular game show.

It’s actually a quick preview of the village retailer going national with its appliance line.

Plesser's has struck a product placement deal with The Price is Right, a quest that Alan Howard, president, kicked off several months ago as part of a national marketing strategy.

“I called CBS to talk to them about Plesser’s working with the Price is Right to provide products. We can ship nationally and we’re aiming to expand as a retailer. You have to do different things and grow as a business and this is one way,” he told Patch.

Plesser’s appliances will be featured on about 15 to 20 Price is Right episodes in the next year. The first three shows are April 18, April 21, and April 26.

“It’s a great way to introduce what we offer to a national audience,” said Howard.

Plesser’s first 15 minutes of fame occurred last November when Howard helped a Florida woman whose holiday gifts were stolen from her car.

The theft had been reported by Florida's local media and picked up by CNN.com where Howard learned  of the woman's  predicament. He reached out and offered a $1,000 to help replace the stolen items and sent her the check the next day.
