Positions' Dancers Begin Sugar Bowl Practices and Preparations

Small group of dancers are "really excited" for their debut at the Superdome.

Babylon's Positions Dance Studio is going somewhere they have never been before – New Orleans... or the Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, to be more precise.

A group of 11 girls will head down to the Bayou State in late December as they prepare for their performance during the college bowl game at the home of the New Orleans Saints. Patch reported this exclusively back in March.

"The choreography is starting to come now," said Positions owner Kelly Peckholdt. "It's all coming together and the girls are really excited to play a part there."

In addition to their on-field performance during the game, the dancers will have the chance to take in the sights of the Big Easy and attend master classes, with lessons from some of the best dancers in the world.

"The girls are really excited – they cannot wait," Peckholdt told Patch. "I'm very stressed but the whole journey is very exciting."

Until the big game, the small group of dancers will continue to pour their hearts into learning their routines and preparing themselves for the big day.

The 80th annual Allstate Sugar Bowl is currently scheduled to take place January 2nd, 2014 at 12 p.m. Last year, Louisiana beat Florida 33-23 in an exciting matchup.
