Red Robin Coming to West Babylon in 2013

Family-style burger restaurant will head into prime spot at Great South Bay Shopping Center.

Get ready to hear a lot of yum's in our area soon – Red Robin is bringing its delicious burgers to West Babylon in 2013.

Red Robin will be opening a restaurant in the recently emptied storefronts at the western most Montauk Highway exit of the Great South Bay Shopping Center, according to Mall Properties, Inc., the owner of the property.

Most of the new storefront was most recently occupied by GNC for the last 20-plus years and Weight Watchers. GNC recently completed a move across the shopping center next to Vision Works. Weight Watchers moved earlier in the Spring.

Red Robin currently has one location on Long Island in Carle Place. There was no word on a potential opening date for the new West Babylon location at this time.

In addition to the new restaurant, the shopping center appears to be eliminating a long-standing vacant building. A former doctor's office at the northeast corner of Park Avenue and Montauk Highway looks like it will be taken down and made into a new parking lot.

The continuing influx of new stores into the Great South Bay Shopping Center continues after a busy summer. Carter's, Yo Luv It and Davis Vision all filled long-standing vacancies in the shopping area.
