The Crushed Olive is Coming to Babylon Village

Olive oil and vinegars shop will open a fourth Long Island location on West Main Street.

The Crushed Olive, a popular olive oil and vinegar storefront in other villages on Long Island, will be headed to Babylon Village, according to one of the business' owners.

"We are very excited to be opening in Babylon Village!" owner Dana Colletti said in an email to Patch.

The new storefront will open at the former The Lite Choice Yogurt, which closed about a month ago, at the corner of Fire Island Avenue and West Main Street.

The Crushed Olive, which also has locations in Huntington, Stony Brook and Sayville, is expected to open in the beginning of November, Colleti told Patch and will follow the same concept as the other shops.

"We feature a daily open tasting of Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Balsamic Vinegars and carry around 50 different flavors," Colletti said. "Customers are invited to sample the oils and vinegars" using tasting cups or fresh bread that will be offered.

She added: "Once a selection is made, we fill the bottles right from the "fusti," or the stainless steel containers in which they are stored.

The Crushed Olive will be more than just vinegars and olive oils though – Colletti said they will also carry some jams, jellies, mustards, olives and more.
