West Bab Mini Mart Sells Winning $1M Lottery Ticket

Johnny's Mini Mart on Route 109 sold Lindenhurst man the winning scratch-off.

A West Babylon store proved very lucky for a local resident in the New York Lottery's Extreme Cash scratch-off game.

Lindenhurst resident Bruce Magistro, 44, bought his $1 million winning ticket at Johnny's Mini Mart on Route 109 in West Babylon.

New York Lottery honored Magistro on Tuesday along with eight other lucky winners from Suffolk and Nassau Counties, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island.

The $1 million prize on the Extreme Cash ticket is paid as $50,000 a year for 20 years, said officials. Magistro will receive an annual net check totaling $33,090 through 2031.

The father of three said he will use his Lottery windfall "to pay off the mortgage on the house and take a vacation to the Caribbean."
