Where to Watch Sunday's Giants Game

There are more than a few options when it comes to finding a good place to cheer on New York's football team

It's no surprise that many village taverns and restaurants are gearing up for a busy afternoon and evening given the face-off between the New York Giants and Green Bay Packers at 4:30 p.m.

If you're in the mood to venture out you've got a few different options for finding a good seat to watch the playoff game.

Here’s a rundown of what some local bars and eateries are offering Giants fans. And, if you decide to stay home in your favorite recliner, but not thrilled about watching the game on that 25-inch set, there’s still time to get to Plesser's and bring home a big screen for the big game.

Tidewater Grill & Tavern is ready for football fans, and its colorful sign inside illustrates the various specials being offered to the gridiron crowd. There will be selected half-price appetizers in addition to the various beer specials.

“We’re hoping for a big crowd,” said Joann Silipo, fiancée of owner Joseph Sgambati. The new bar, which was formerly Armadillo Grill, officially opened up about two weeks ago, and has undergone a major transformation, with new décor, paint and artistic signs made by local artists.

Mary Carroll’s Irish Pub, on Deer Park Avenue, offers lots of bar seating and table seating for those looking to settle in at the hometown bar and enjoy the game. There’s an eight-foot screen television and drink specials include $2.50 Bud Lights and $9 pitchers.

Horace and Sylvia’s Publick House will be offering various food and drink specials for those settling in at the comfortable bar. The restaurant expects it usual steady crowd so you might want to get there a bit early.

The Argyle Grill & Tavern will be doing its usual brunch offering and is definitely a haven for Giants fans. “We all want the Giants to win here,” said one staffer.

If you’re having the party at home and tired of serving those traditional football cakes, you might want to stop at Torta Fina and pick up some delicious cupcakes decorated in Giants colors. The treat has been pretty popular in the last two weeks so get there early.
