Young Imagination Toys to Close on Sept. 7

Eight-year-old toy shop will close its doors later this week.

Young Imagination Toys, the only children's toy store in Babylon Village, will close its doors on September 7, according to owner Karen Young.

The announcement came over Facebook on the toy store's official page, noting Young's intent to close up the popular eight-year-old shop by the end of this week.

"We will be closing our store on September 7th," wrote Young on Facebook. "A huge thank you to everyone who supported us for the last eight years of business!"

The store will be featuring a going out-of-business sale over the next few days, with nearly everything in the store will be 50 percent off. Cash or credit will be accepted.

The toy shop completed a move to its current location at 127 Deer Park Avenue during the summer of 2011, taking over a spot formerly operated as Chapman Skateboards.

The former Young Imagination store across the street at 130 Deer Park Avenue later became Kilwin's of Babylon.

Young Imagination is among a handful of Babylon businesses to announce they were closing up their storefronts in the last month, including Coastal Island Treasures, The Lite Choice and The Hesperus.
