Suffolk Police announces a news conference on the ongoing nine-month serial case investigation.

Suffolk Police will hold a press conference Tuesday at 11 a.m. regarding the Gilgo bodies investigation.

While no details or further information were provided by the news alert, issued early evening Monday, this is the first update from Suffolk Police since May regarding the serial killer investigation involving four young women and discovery of six additional human remains on the past year along the Ocean Parkway area.

The last official police information released on the bodies case was on July 12 during a national news broadcast.

Suffolk Police Commissioner Richard Dormer was interviewed on the murders of four young women who worked as Craiglist escorts, and the investigation of six additional bodies, during a “48 Hours Mystery,” segment. In that segment Dormer stated that "an arrest is not imminent, but we're making progress.”

Suffolk Police and the Crime Stoppers program had boosted an initial $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest to an unprecedented $25,000 in early June.
